ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Saturday, April 20, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a seatbelt checkpoint at the 600 block of North Perkins Ferry Road in Moss Bluff. As a result of the checkpoint, deputies checked 1,328 vehicles and issued 36 citations.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Saturday, March 9, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a DWI checkpoint at 2901 Westwood Road in Westlake to target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics.
Five-hundred and sixty (560) vehicles were checked; sixteen (16) field sobriety tests were administered; five (5) citations were issued; and the following six (6) people were arrested for DWI:

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — Between November 23 and December 26, 2012, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office implemented the Annual Robbery Prevention Mobilization (RPM) in an effort to deter crime and assist shoppers in the parking lot at the Prien Lake Mall seven days a week from noon until one hour past mall closing.
The deputies were on marked ATV’s and patrol cars in the parking lot, as well as manning the CPSO Mobile Command Center located in the front parking lot of the mall on Prien Lake Road. Deputies, who will be wearing orange Sheriff’s Office traffic vests during the evening hours, were available to assist shoppers with such things as helping them find their car, jump starting their car if the battery is dead, changing a flat, assisting employees and shoppers by walking them to their car after dark, or any other assistance they can provide.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Friday, July 27, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a seatbelt checkpoint at the 200 block of Highway 90 in Iowa. As a result of the checkpoint, deputies checked 785 vehicles and issued 30 citations, including two DWI’s.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — Last night, troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop D with assistance from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Westlake Police, and Lake Charles City Police conducted a DWI checkpoint in Calcasieu Parish. The checkpoint resulted in 4 DWI arrests.
In addition, 25 citations were issued at the checkpoint for a variety of other violations.
