ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On April 22, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) Detective Sgt. Jeff Cole conducted a stop on a car traveling eastbound on I-10 between Vinton and Sulphur for a traffic violation.

When Sgt. Cole spoke with the driver, Emily T. Wallace, 31, 1022 Huge Wallace Road, Lafayette, he detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the car.

During a subsequent search of the car, Sgt. Cole recovered a can with a screw type false bottom, containing approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine. He also recovered a small bag on her person containing approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine, and 2 partially burnt marijuana cigarettes, along with a spoon, and a syringe from inside the car.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested Kevin M. Jenkins, 25, who was wanted for 2nd degree battery; battery on a police officer; resisting arrest; and possession of marijuana with intent.

On April 23 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Jenkins’ apartment, 1024 Walters Street, Apt. # 108, Lake Charles, to investigate a complaint regarding drug activity at the apartment.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — UPDATE: SUBJECT HAS BEEN ARRESTED! On April 23 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 1024 Walters Street, Apt. # 108, in Lake Charles to investigate a complaint regarding drug activity at the apartment.

When deputies arrived and spoke with tenant Kevin M. Jenkins, 25, they observed several half-burnt cigarettes containing a green-leafy substance inside the apartment. After receiving permission to search the apartment, deputies recovered a bag from the top of Jenkins’ closet which contained 6 bags of marijuana.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On March 22, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the C.A.T. Team Sgt. Jeff Cole conducted a stop on a car for a traffic violation which was traveling east on I-10 near mile marker 7.

The driver of the car, Darrell L. Nunnery, Jr., 21, 14157 Happywoods Drive, Hammond, told Sgt. Cole he was traveling back home to Hammond from Beaumont. View full article »

New York Police Department

Cops raided a New York apartment building Tuesday and found it had been turned into a pot farm.

Acting on a tip, police broke down the door at 610 Morris Park Avenue in The Bronx at 1:00 p.m. local time and discovered a staggering 600 marijuana-growing pots. They filled the top four floors of the five-story building.

Officials estimated there was 1,500 pounds of pot growing in the building, and at $5,000 a pound, it had a street value of about $7.5 million. View full article »

CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR 2ND DEGREE BATTERY

This morning at approximately 2:00 a.m., detectives with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Vice Division conducted a stop on an vehicle near the 2900 block of Highway 90 in Sulphur for a traffic violation.

When detectives approached the vehicle to speak with the driver, later identified as John L. Runte, 26, Sulphur, they observed a bag of marijuana sitting on the center console of the vehicle. During further inspection of the vehicle, detectives also recovered .066 of powder cocaine, with an estimated street value of $400. View full article »

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On September 13 at approximately 10:00 a.m., Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) Detective Sgt. Jeff Cole conducted a stop on an SUV near mile marker 30 traveling east on I-10 for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, Sgt. Cole allowed his K-9 “Basco” to conduct a free air sniff of the air around the SUV. After Basco alerted to the odor of narcotics, Sgt. Cole conducted a search of and recovered a box in the cargo area containing approximately 4.5 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $10,000. View full article »
