ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 6, detectives with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Vehicle Crimes Investigative Unit (VCIU) received information regarding possible stolen property located at the home of David B. Parker, Jr., 25, 2734 Opelousas Street, Lake Charles.

Upon arrival, detectives spoke with Parker and received consent to search his home and recovered over $20,000 worth of items that had been reported stolen from three separate homes in 2012 including a zero-turn lawnmower, a tractor, brush hog, and a utility trailer.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 25, 2012, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a church on Mill Street in Lake Charles in reference to a burglary alarm that had been triggered.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a side door of the church was open. When deputies spoke with an employee of the church, they were advised two laptops and a camera, valued at over $1,000, were stolen from inside the church.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 28, at approximately around 2:30 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a convenience store on N. Cities Service Highway in Sulphur regarding a report of a vehicle driving off after stealing gas.

Deputies observed a vehicle matching the description driving westbound on I-10 near mile marker 21 and conducted a traffic stop. When deputies approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Roger D. Thomas, Jr., 34, 2112 Ellis Drive, Westlake, they detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath, as well as very slurred speech.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 8, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Lake Charles in reference to a burglary.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised he discovered several stolen items in a car driven by family acquaintance, Howard J. Boutte, Jr., 33, 2509 Demarest Street, Lake Charles, including over $400 worth of antique silverware. After finding the stolen items in the car, the victim discovered over $4,500 worth of items including several rare coins, tools, a camera, a necklace and other jewelry, fishing equipment including tackle boxes and rod and reels, a video game console and several games were missing from his home.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On February 24, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched in reference to a burglary in progress at a business on Swisco Road in Sulphur.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a man, later identified as David B. Parker, Jr., 25, 2734 Opelousas Street, Lake Charles, fleeing the business on foot. Deputies also discovered a truck belonging to Parker, parked at the burglarized business with the hood still warm and the keys in the seat.

During further investigation, deputies recovered a handgun and a Louisiana license plate from inside Parker’s truck. After running the serial numbers of the handgun and the license plate, deputies discovered both had been reported stolen.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 28, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Compliance and Awareness Program Unit (CAP) received information from Allen Parish officials regarding convicted sex offender Ronnie L. Cowan, Jr., 38, formerly of Oakdale, possible residing in at a home on Jim Pickens Road in Sulphur.

CPSO Detectives located and arrested Cowan at 208 Jim Pickens Road, Sulphur, and he was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

As required by law, when a sex offender moves they must notify the parish/county they are registered in of their plan to move and then must register within three (3) days with the parish/county they have moved to.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On September 29 at approximately 12:15 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Vinton in reference to a disturbance.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised while visiting ex-boyfriend Albert Delassantos, Jr., 63, 2677 Foreman Road, Vinton, he struck her in the face numerous times, causing moderate injuries which required medical attention.

The victim also advised deputies that during the altercation, Delassantos threatened her with a knife and continued to strike her several more times before removing her clothes, throwing her to the ground and attempting to rape her.
