ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 29, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Iowa in reference to a domestic battery.

The caller advised during a verbal altercation between the victim and her boyfriend, Nathaniel J. Edwards, 44, Iowa, Edwards had bit off a portion of the victim’s finger, and struck the victim in the face, severely damaging her front bottom teeth. When deputies arrived, they learned Edwards had fled the scene.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On March 21, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Vice detectives arrested Sherri J. Logan, 43, 6675 Highway 90, Lot # 40, Iowa, who was employed at a local doctors office, for obtaining CDS by fraud.

An investigation revealed since January 2001, Logan obtained over 28,385 prescription pills by utilizing numerous blank prescriptions from the local doctor she worked for to fill numerous prescriptions and also called out numerous prescriptions to local pharmacies without the doctor’s authorization.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO |LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On July 30, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding Jaime R. Capps, 35, 6027 Daughenbaugh Road, Iowa, physically abusing a 10 year old family member.

Further investigation revealed the child had been whipped using a belt, causing severe bruising on both sides of the child’s buttocks.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On May 7, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a business on West Fourth Street in Iowa in reference to a burglary.

When deputies arrived, they discovered the tin on the rear of the building had been pried open and a new washing machine was stolen.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On March 9, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded in reference to shots fired inside a mobile home at 5003 Highway 14 East in Iowa.

When deputies arrived and spoke with the homeowner, Joleen J. Treadway, 41, they immediately detected a strong odor of chemicals coming from inside the mobile home. Once inside, deputies discovered several chemicals that were consistent with creation or operation of a clandestine lab. View full article »

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On February 17, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched in reference to a suspicious truck parked behind a business on Highway 90 East in Lake Charles.

When deputies arrived, they observed large ruts on the ground from a vehicle driving in the wet grass, leading to the back of the business where the truck was parked. Once inside the building, deputies discovered Nathan W. McDonald, 31, Iowa, going through numerous boxes stored inside the business. McDonald was found to be in possession of several tools used to commit a burglary, including a screw driver and bolt cutters. View full article »

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Vehicle Crimes Unit recently launched an investigation after receiving reports of over 30 vehicle burglaries in the eastern Lake Charles / Iowa area, including Highway 14 East, PE Daigle Road, McCown Road, and Manchester Road, from December 17 through December 27. The victims reported several items, including electronics, purses, wallets, credit cards, and seven (7) firearms, were stolen out of their UNLOCKED vehicles. View full article »
