ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On April 20 at approximately 7:30 a.m., Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) Detective Sgt. Jeff Cole conducted a stop on a car for a traffic violation near mile marker 32 eastbound on I-10.
When Sgt. Cole spoke with the driver of the car, Joseph R. Mitchell, 34, 326 Couch Court, Houma, he began to act suspiciously. After receiving consent from Mitchell, Sgt. Cole conducted a search of the car and recovered a vacuum sealed bag containing 1 kilogram of powder cocaine hidden in the driver’s side dash board, with an estimated street value of over $60,000.
