CPSO ARRESTS TWO IN SULPHUR HOME BURGLARY, LOOKING FOR TWO MORE

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On January 1, at approximately 12:40 a.m., the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a single car accident at the intersection of Evangeline Highway and Second Street in Starks.

The preliminary investigation revealed the car driven by Alvin Hodges, 40, 4457 Edwards Street, Starks, was traveling westbound on Evangeline Highway and appeared to have crossed the center line, running off the road, striking a culvert and flipping the car which came to rest on the roof in the ditch. Hodges was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

LCPD investigates Shell Beach Dr. Fatality

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On Friday 10-26-2012 at approximately 12:51 am, officers of the Lake Charles Police Department responded to a one vehicle crash in the 600 blk of Shell Beach Drive.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered that the crash involved a motorcycle, and it’s operator.  Their investigation revealed that the motorcycle had been traveling Westbound on Shell beach Drive at Bellevue, when the operator lost control causing the motorcycle to leave the roadway. The reason for the loss of control can not be determined at this time.  Though he was wearing a safety helmet, the operator was unable to survive the injuries sustained during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

CPSO investigates Truck-Bicycle Fatality in SLC

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — Saturday morning at approximately 5:05, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated a truck-bicycle accident in the 7800 block of Nelson Road in Lake Charles. The investigation revealed the bicyclist, Mario Beltran, 52, Baton Rouge, was struck from behind by a pick up truck driven by Casey Richter, 25, Prairieville, LA.

Both were traveling southbound on Nelson Rd. Beltran was pronounced dead at the scene by the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office. Both Beltran and Richter were living in Lake Charles at the time of the accident.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal car/pedestrian accident that occurred at the 5400 block of Elliot Road in Lake Charles at approximately 4:00 a.m. this morning.

The preliminary investigation revealed Son T. Tran, 23, 1531 Country Club Road, Apt. # 722, Lake Charles, appeared to be walking northbound on Elliot Road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. View full article »
