ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES LA. — On March 22, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a school in DeQuincy after receiving a complaint from school officials regarding Mary A. Jordan, 42, 719 Roland Patillo Road, DeQuincy, physically abusing a 10 year old family member who is a student at the school.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered Jordan struck the victim on his back with a belt, causing multiple severe bruises.

After further investigation, Jordan was arrested on March 22 and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with cruelty to a juvenile. She has been released on a $15,000 bond set by Judge Robert Wyatt.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. – On February 12, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Kingham Street in Lake Charles in reference to a disturbance.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered Matthew F. Taylor, 42, Lake Charles, struck a 72 year old female family member numerous times causing severe bruising. The investigation also revealed the elderly victim had an active protective order against Taylor.

Medical emergency personnel responded and transported the woman to a local hospital for treatment. During an examination by doctors, the victim was found to have suffered from a fractured collar bone, two sprained wrists, and multiple contusions to the head, upper arms and hands.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 8, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding Darren J. Racca, 41, 250 Church Street, DeRidder, having inappropriate sexual contact with a female family member.

The victim stated she was made to perform sexual acts on Racca on numerous occasions between 2004 and 2005 in Calcasieu Parish when the girl was 7 years old.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On June 9, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched after receiving a complaint regarding Bradley L. Wentzel, 19, 805 Topsy Road, Lot # 32, Moss Bluff, duct taping the hands, feet and mouth of a 12 year old boy and locking him the trunk of a car for several minutes.

Further investigation revealed after removing the victim from the trunk of a car, Wentzel put the victim on the ground and allowed a 12 year old juvenile to squirt the victim in the face with a water hose until he began to choke. The victim’s 9 year old friend was forced to watch and was threatened with the same abuse if he tried to leave.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On May 3, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a home on Third Avenue in Lake Charles in reference to a disturbance. The investigation revealed Ray A. Leger, 55, 1101 Third Ave., slapped a 79 year old family member in his face causing him to fall onto a couch. Leger was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He was charged with battery of the infirmed. Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $180,000.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On February 2, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from school officials in reference to an 8 year old girl being dragged by her arm out of the school by Yolanda C. Geyen, 45, Lake Charles, a family member of the child. School officials also reported witnessing Geyen strike the 8 year old girl in the face with her hand, causing the child’s nose to bleed. ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — Yesterday afternoon the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was called to a local hospital in regard to a 2 year old brought into the emergency room with severe burns to his legs.

The investigation revealed the child sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns to both legs below the knee. He also had bruising to the top of both ears, a bruise on his face, a bruise on his genital area, and bruises under one arm. View full article »
