CPSO re-arrests man on Additional Sex Charges

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On August 9, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office re-arrested Darren J. Racca, 42, 5117 Highway 110 East, DeRidder, after an investigation revealed he had inappropriate sexual contact with a male family acquaintance, when the boy was 8 years old.

The victim stated he was made to perform sexual acts on Racca on numerous occasions between 2004 and 2005. The victim further stated Racca forced him to watch pornographic videos with him and threatened bodily harm if he refused.

Racca was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional and charged with 7 counts of sexual battery; 1 count of indecent behavior with a juvenile; and 1 count of cruelty to a juvenile.

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — At approximately 2:00 a.m. this morning, a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a car in the area of Highway 3059 and Yvonne Street in Lake Charles for a traffic violation.

When the deputy spoke with the driver of the car, Ricky Martinez, 42, 5007 Spruce Forest, Houston, Texas, he began to act suspiciously. After the deputy asked for permission to search the car and Martinez refused, a CPSO K9 Unit was dispatched to the scene and alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the car. View full article »

A 48-year-old Florida businessman has legally adopted his 42-year-old girlfriend as his daughter in what one attorney is calling an attempt to shield assets in a wrongful death civil suit that has entered a “legal twilight zone,” according to a judge.

John Goodman, who founded the International Polo Club Beach in Wellington, legally adopted Heather Hutchins on Oct. 13 in Miami-Dade County, according to a court order by Circuit Court Judge Glenn Kelley. View full article »

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On November 27 around 6:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was patrolling the area of Hwy 3059 and Man Heyd Road in Iowa and conducted a stop on a motorcycle driven by James A. Langley, 42, Iowa, for a traffic violation.

When the deputy approached the motorcycle and spoke with Langley, he detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and his speech was slurred. View full article »

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested John W. Lemon, 42, after he turned himself in around 6:30 p.m. last night. Lemon was wanted in connection with a stabbing that occurred on September 7.

CPSO investigation revealed Lemon entered a mobile home at 7114 Corbina Road in Lake Charles, stabbed a man multiple times, and fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition. View full article »
