ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On November 2010, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from the Department of Children and Family Services regarding a report of a 7 year old girl who had a burn on her scalp and also numerous bruises on her arm.

The investigation revealed Crystal M. Ceasar, 26, Lake Charles, a family member of the child, had burned the child’s scalp with a flat iron and whipped the child with a hair brush, causing bruising to her arm and legs. View full article »

Officials identified Saturday the gunman who opened fire on a busy Hollywood street but were still searching for a motive behind the brazen daylight rampage, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Tyler Brehm, 26, was shot dead by police after he walked to the corner of Sunset and Vine streets early Friday morning and began firing shots at passing cars and bystanders. Brehm allegedly unloaded about a dozen shots and caused panic in the area before a SWAT team and other police moved in, gunning him down. View full article »

CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR 2ND DEGREE BATTERY

This morning at approximately 2:00 a.m., detectives with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Vice Division conducted a stop on an vehicle near the 2900 block of Highway 90 in Sulphur for a traffic violation.

When detectives approached the vehicle to speak with the driver, later identified as John L. Runte, 26, Sulphur, they observed a bag of marijuana sitting on the center console of the vehicle. During further inspection of the vehicle, detectives also recovered .066 of powder cocaine, with an estimated street value of $400. View full article »

ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On September 14, shortly before noon, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Prison correctional officers discovered an inmate who was unconscious and appeared to be severely beaten. Medical personnel responded and transported him to a local hospital for treatment. The victim was subsequently transferred to a Lafayette hospital for treatment of neurological injuries, including head trauma, facial fractures, and contusions, and is currently in critical condition. ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — Yesterday afternoon the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was called to a local hospital in regard to a 2 year old brought into the emergency room with severe burns to his legs.

The investigation revealed the child sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns to both legs below the knee. He also had bruising to the top of both ears, a bruise on his face, a bruise on his genital area, and bruises under one arm. View full article »
