ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On July 23rd, 2012 at 2:15 a.m., the Lake Charles Police Department was notified of a home invasion at Wilshire Apartments (4245 5th Avenue). Subsequently, Officers also detected a vehicle burglary at Cypress Apartments (4249 5th Ave.) that involved the same suspect.
The victims at Wilshire Apartments were awakened to find an intruder in their home. The victims were able to deter the suspect and make him flee their home. They called the police and gave a very detailed description of the suspect.
Lake Charles Police Officers arrived minutes later and after a search of the area, located a person that was consistent with the suspect description. He was sitting in a vehicle when Officers located him. He was detained and positively identified by the victims of the home invasion. After his arrest, the owner of the vehicle was located and Officers learned that the suspect had illegally gained entry into her vehicle.
The suspect was arrested for home invasion for the Wilshire Apartments incident and burglary for the Cypress Apartments incident.
