ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On June 3, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on 10th Street in Lake Charles in reference to a burglary.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised when she returned home, she discovered her door had been forced open, damaging the door and the door frame, and multiple household items, including a washer and dryer, DVD player, laptop computer and a microwave, were stolen.
During the investigation, deputies were notified by the victim that Eric Lafleur, 34, 1022 Church Street, Lake Charles, a former acquaintance of the victim, had returned the stolen household items.
Deputies located Lafleur at his home and arrested him in connection with the burglary and theft. When questioned by detectives, Lafleur confirmed to entering the victim’s home and stealing the items.
Lafleur was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with simple burglary; and theft over $1,500; and criminal damage to property.
Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $3,000.
