ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA. — On May 9, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home in Sulphur regarding a report of a theft.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim who advised she had hired a carpenter to work on her home while she was out of town. After returning home, the victim discovered a diamond ring, valued at over $7,000, was missing from her home.
After further investigation, detectives discovered Timothy W. Phillips, 24, 788 W. Dave Dugas Road, Sulphur, a helper of the hired carpenter, had stolen the diamond ring while working on the victim’s home.
Phillips was arrested on May 22 and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft over $1,500.
Phillips has been released on a $3,000 bond set by Judge Ron Ware.
