The Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitor’s Bureau hosted a news conference today to reveal the rebranding and schedule of events including Josh Turner performing for the 2012 Contraband Days.
The festival has a new look for its 55th anniversary after undergoing an extensive branding exercise last year to “pinpoint the demographics and interests of target audiences to ensure the offerings and branding of the festival are communicating the spirit of the event.”
There will also be a slight name change. The festival is now the “Contraband Days, Louisiana Pirate Festival.”
There is also a new logo and website design.
Performances this year will include will include Travis Matte & the Kingpins, Steel Shot, Kevin Naquin & the Ossun Playboys, and Chris Miller & Bayou Roots. Musical guests will also include Josh Turner, Tenth Avenue North, Adam Trent, The ZAPP Band, Bryan Fontenot, The Molly Ringwalds, Ryan Andreas and Beverly McClellan.
