CPSO ARRESTS TWO FOR BURGLARY IN PROGRESS

Eric Scott Radio has just learned that on July 28, around 2:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a house on Palm Drive in Sulphur in reference to a burglary in progress.

When deputies arrived and spoke with the victim, he advised while he was sleeping Catlin C. Richard, 24, 4200 Maplewood Drive, Apt. # 312, Sulphur, and Chelsey R. Gatte, 20, 460 W. Parish Road, Sulphur, who are acquaintances, broke into his house by breaking a window in the front room. The victim witnessed Richard and Gatte walking out of a computer room in his house, where a laptop and Dewalt Drill were reported missing.

Deputies quickly located Richard on Palm Drive and arrested him and placed him in a CPSO patrol car. While deputies searched the area for Gatte, Richard kicked the driver’s side rear window out of the patrol car. Moments later, deputies located and apprehended Gatte.

Richard and Gatte were booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center. Richard is charged with simple burglary; 2 counts of simple criminal damage to property; theft of $500–$1,500; and resisting arrest. Gatte is charged with simple burglary; simple criminal damage to property; and theft of $500–$1,500.

Judge Clayton Davis set Richard’s bond at $6,500; and Gatte’s bond at $6,000.
